If the food is really stuck on apply a little baking soda and water to the brush and try again. To mitigate this, simply scrub the igniter with a toothbrush. Pots and pans are notorious for boiling over, and because of this food/starch can build up and obstruct the contact surface on your igniter. Gas & Electric Stove If your burner won’t light on your gas stove, first try cleaning the igniter.
